AMD released Radeon ProRender 2.4 for Blender with an experimental RPR 2.0 mode and Blender 2.83 support.

Out-of-core rendering

The RPR 2.0 preview could move textures and geometry outside GPU memory, extending scene capacity through out-of-core processing. Blender 2.83 volume objects added OpenVDB support.

Node baking and volumes

A baking workflow converted unsupported nodes, including Blender Noise Texture nodes, into renderable results and could reduce repeated shading work. Node updates covered Principled Volume, new node modes and bump mapping with a normal input.

Historical platforms

The plug-in supported Blender 2.80 through 2.83 on Windows 10, Ubuntu 18.04 or 16.04.3, and macOS 10.13.3 or 10.14 and later.

Render teams should test memory fallback, baked-node parity, volume output and driver compatibility before using this archived build.
