V-Ray 5 LightMix Relights Finished Renders

V-Ray 5 beta added LightMix and VFB layer compositing so artists could change light colour and intensity after rendering.

Chaos introduced LightMix and layer compositing in the V-Ray 5 frame buffer.

Post-render relighting

LightMix allowed artists to adjust the colour and intensity of scene lights after a render completed. The workflow moved lighting iterations into the VFB, reducing the need to launch a full rerender for every balance change.

VFB compositing

The same beta revised the frame-buffer interface and added layered compositing. Lighting adjustments and image operations could therefore be evaluated together inside V-Ray.

Lighting teams should test render-element setup, saved LightMix presets, colour management and final-output parity before using the beta workflow on production scenes.
