Projection painting in the viewport
4D Paint simplified painting directly on 3D objects inside Cinema 4D. It could project photographic textures and vector graphics onto a model, giving Prime, Broadcast and Visualize users a painting route without the Sculpt toolset.
Renderer and platform support
Developer Kent Barber stated that OctaneRender 3.06 or later could display results in the Live Viewer. The plug-in was available for macOS and Windows without a licence key. UDIM Importer and HDRI Texture Connections were separate paid products rather than part of the free download.
The featured character with electrified hair was created by Elise Tak using 4D Paint. Artists should test projection seams, UV behaviour and renderer compatibility before committing production textures.
