Automatic quad topology
Jeremy Hu’s AutoRemesher converts source meshes into quad geometry intended for animation. The standalone tool was released in alpha and was planned for integration into Hu’s Dust3D modelling application.
Dust3D already included remeshing based on the open-source Instant Meshes library. A development article explains why Hu began a separate remesher.
Alpha limitations
AutoRemesher was free under the GNU General Public License. The alpha build had a rudimentary interface and accepted only OBJ input. Builds were available from the GitHub release page. Inspect edge flow, manifold geometry and deformation quality carefully before using alpha-generated topology in production.
