Texture artist Jonathan Benainous completed a Victorian office environment using Autodesk Maya, Substance tools and Marmoset for lighting and rendering.

For the floor, walls and ceiling, he used simple planes carrying tessellation and UV data. Rather than modelling every architectural detail, the workflow relied heavily on displacement driven by height maps.

The breakdown is useful for studying environment construction, but artists should test tessellation cost, silhouette quality and texture resolution against target hardware.
