Car Render Challenge 2020

Hum3D invited 3D artists to enter its 2020 Car Render Challenge with a vehicle model, a surrounding 3D environment and a finished image. Entrants could choose any real or fictional vehicle and use any 3D application or renderer.

The competition ran from 16 September to 8 December 2020. Additional software prizes were available for work created with OctaneRender, V-Ray, Corona Renderer, LightWave and Marmoset Toolbag. The organisers also listed a Teya Conceptor licence for the most unusual design and a Fox Renderfarm prize for the jury’s preferred racing car.

A competition render demonstrates image quality, but production teams should also inspect scene complexity, render settings and timings before drawing workflow conclusions.
