Sky Captain and the Ape of Tomorrow

Meet Marcus Hope. He may look like an ordinary chimpanzee flight captain — or “Sky Captain”, as this megaprimate calls himself — but Marcus stands out among his professional peers. He is presented as the world’s first ape to hold a state-certified pilot’s licence. His polished flying goggles were created by 3D artist Konstantin Gdalevich, who sculpted the character in ZBrush.

The first video below offers a tour of the character’s creation, while a second clip presents the finished 3D character as a turntable.
