In brief: Light Tracer Render 2.0 updated the GPU-based 3D renderer with geometry tools, features for complex lighting and IES-profile support.

Path guiding and caustics: Caustic Mode guided light paths using incident radiance during rendering. Path guiding was intended to improve convergence for difficult light transport such as caustics.

Transparent shadows: Shadow rays passing through semi-transparent objects were attenuated and continued until reaching an opaque surface or a light source.

Mesh lights and IES: The ray-tracing engine directly sampled arbitrarily shaped mesh emitters to reduce shading noise, particularly in architectural and interior scenes. IES profiles described the angular distribution of emitted light.

Light Tracer was available as a desktop application and a web version. The developer published a detailed version 2.0 announcement.
