In brief: This U-Render training series used a stylised dragon project to introduce the renderer. The project files required Cinema 4D R19 or later.
Series curriculum:
- Lighting with IBL, environment maps, simple fog and light tags
- Materials with clear coat, subsurface scattering and displacement
- Post effects including AO, bloom, tone mapping and chromatic aberration
- Camera controls for depth of field, motion blur and spherical views
- Final rendering through the dashboard
- Multipass output
- Volumetric haze, fog and scattering
Part six: The video below explains Object ID, Material ID and Depth passes. Earlier instalments covered lighting, post-processing and final rendering. Test pass naming, colour management and compositing output before production use.
