In brief: This seven-part U-Render training series introduced the renderer through a stylised dragon project. Downloadable files required Cinema 4D R19 or later.

Curriculum:

  • Lighting: IBL, environment maps, simple fog and U-Render light tags
  • Materials: clear coat, subsurface scattering and displacement
  • Post effects: ambient occlusion, bloom, tone mapping and chromatic aberration
  • Camera: depth of field, motion blur and spherical cameras
  • Final rendering through the dashboard
  • Multipass output to separate files
  • Volumetrics: haze, fog and volume scattering

Part seven: The video below concentrates on real-time volumetric rendering for fog, haze and smog. Earlier instalments covered lighting, post-processing and multipass output. Test the project files and renderer version before production use.
