Cadrage Studio sits in creative pre-production for directors and DPs, between script breakdown, previs and location prep. It extends the workflow of Cadrage, the director’s viewfinder app, from framing into shot planning.
Early access for Apple workflows
Cadrage Studio is now in early access via TestFlight for iPhone, iPad and Mac. The native app requires macOS 26, iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later. The App Store compatibility data also includes Apple Vision with visionOS 26 or later. The beta is free to use. The planned App Store release date is 21 July 2026. The German store lists the download as free with in-app purchases, a free trial, and subscriptions at 19.99 euros per month or 99.99 euros per year.
Scripts, shots and diagrams
The app connects imported scripts with shot lists, storyboards, camera diagrams, mood boards and locations. Script import detects scenes and characters automatically. When script revisions arrive, the app keeps shot lists, storyboards and diagrams connected to their scenes, while omitted scenes are archived.
Camera diagrams use overhead layouts with cameras, actors, lights and set pieces. Shot lists support customizable fields. Locations can include photos, notes, 3D room scans from LiDAR-enabled iOS devices, or imported USDZ files. Mood boards collect images, videos and links, then export for presentations. So yes, fewer mystery folders named final_final_actual.
Privacy, sync and offline work
Projects sync across Apple devices through iCloud. Collaborators can be invited into a shared project, and structured scene PDFs can be exported for departments or people outside the app. Project data stays on the user’s device and private iCloud account. The app can work offline.
An, very cool in this day and age: It does not use AI, does not upload material to third-party AI providers, and does not use project data for AI training.
