3Dlabs announced that Dell would offer the Wildcat4 7110 as a high-end graphics option for AGP 8x-based Precision 450 and 650 workstations.
The 256 MB card targeted professional CAD and digital-content-creation applications. With Intel’s E7505 chipset, it transferred up to 2 GB of graphics data per second and supported Windows 2000 and XP.
Custom drivers were supplied for AutoCAD and 3ds Max, with Linux drivers planned for spring 2003.
IBM also planned Wildcat4 7110 configurations for the IntelliStation M Pro 6219 and Z Pro 6221, with the Wildcat4 7210 as an ultra-high-end option. The cards belong to the GPU and workstation archives.
