REALVIZ released ImageModeler 3.5 for Mac OS X, bringing the photo-based 3D reconstruction application to the Macintosh for the first time. REALVIZ’s software assets were later acquired by Autodesk.

ImageModeler extracted spatial information from photographs to measure and recreate accurate 3D objects and scenes. Automatic photo texturing, point-to-point measurement, per-object unwrapped textures and a new calibration engine were intended to accelerate 3D modelling.

The software targeted architectural reconstruction, photographic surveys, virtual visits, photorealistic backdrops, character work, industrial design, animation and visual effects. Models and textures could be exported to other 3D applications and web formats.

The Mac OS X edition was priced at €/$750. A Windows XP/2000 release was planned for the first quarter of 2003, with free or €/$250 cross-grades depending on the customer’s existing version and purchase date.
