Kaydara released Introduction to MotionBuilder, the first free MotionBuilder Video Training Magazine produced by Jason Busby of 3D Buzz. Kaydara was later acquired by Autodesk, which continues to develop MotionBuilder.
The monthly series was planned to progress from the user interface to advanced character-animation techniques. Each instalment would contain at least two hours of training.
The first programme covered the interface, viewer, object handling, basic animation, characterisation, character controls and animation. It also demonstrated exporting from and importing into Maya.
MotionBuilder 4.0 combined drag-and-drop operation, automatic character rigging, lip sync, facial-animation tools and real-time display. The introductory video was available without charge through the Kaydara and 3D Buzz websites.
