SGI has launched an Open Broadcast Initiative intended to improve interoperability between systems. The aim is to allow broadcast products from different manufacturers to integrate with scalable SGI system architectures.
The initiative follows SGI’s announcement at IBC 2004 that it had formed a new business unit, Silicon Graphics Broadcast Europe, also known as sgBE.
