According to its own statements, Maxon today becomes the world’s first manufacturer of 3D animation tools to release its Cinema 4D software as a final

64-bit version for Windows 64-bit operating systems. The advantages for the user lie above all in the enlarged usable memory range and higher speed through optimal adaptation to 64-bit processors.

The previous regular memory limit of 2 GBytes of RAM is thus removed: For particularly large projects, up to 1 TByte of RAM can now be addressed. For C4D users, this results in complete freedom in the number of polygons and objects, texture sizes,

shader settings (for exmaple subpolygon displacement), multipass rendering or excessive particle systems, the comapny explains. Users of the BodyPaint 3D module could draw more fully than ever on resources for the size and number of layers in their textures. According to Maxon, adaptation to the new 64-bit CPUs also results in a 20 percent speed advantage during rendering.

On request, Maxon provides registered owners of Cinema 4D R9

with a 64-bit version free of charge.
