Tinder 5 is a plug-in collection for the Discreet systems Flint, Flame, Fire, Inferno, Smoke and Burn. In addition to revised and now faster versions of the old functions, the package also brings several new effects:
- Cartoon gives any footage a cartoon look
- Shaft makes it possible to change the direction and colouring of light rays quickly.
- Rain simulates 2D rain
-
Fire creates artificial flames
-
Silk is an airbrush tool that leaves edges unchanged.
-
Sonic can filter an audio file for certain frequencies. The values obtained can then be used to animate any parameter.
Tinder 5 is available immediately. The price is 5750 dollars for the node-locked version and 8625 dollars for the floating licence. When purchasing Tinder 5 for Discreet, one currently receives 8 licences for “Tinder for Burn” free of charge.
The Foundry announced “Forge” as a new product. This software is intended to remove defects such as dirt, dust and hair from digital footage automatically. The tool is started from the command line and can thus be integrated into any production environment. Should the fully automatic tool ever miss something, it can be taught with the help of an OFX plug-in called “Forge:Approve”. Availability date and price are not yet known.
Furnace 3 will add several effects to the existing set, including:
- MotionBlur, which adds motion blur to video footage afterwards
DeBlur, which adds sharpness to blurred images
MatchGrade, which automatically matches the colour mood of two images.
There is currently neither a price nor a release date for Furnace 3.
