This makes Maxon one of the first manufacturers to adapt its software to the new hardware platform. Version R9.52 renders on an iMac with Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHz two to three times as fast as on a 2.1 GHz iMac G5. These measurements were determined with the “Cinebench” benchmarking tool, which Apple also used when presenting the new systems. The Universal Binary is available free of charge to owners of Cinema 4D 9.5x; at least Mac OS X v.10.4.4 is required.
