At its Siggraph stand, Side Effects Software presented the latest version 8.1 of Houdini. The software has already been on the market for some time, but there have been several special offers since Siggraph: Until September 30, it is still possible to get two Houdini Master licences for 9,999 dollars, which is a saving of 40 percent.
Those who do not want to invest so much can now also rent Houdini. Houdini Master costs 1,700 dollars per month, Houdini Escape 500 dollars. Anyone who rents the software for three months gets one month free. Anyone who decides to buy after renting can have up to 75 percent of the rental price paid so far credited towards the price.
