Mensch und Maschine Software AG (MuM), one of the leading CAD providers in Europe, increased its shareholding in yello! digital production tools AG from the previous 29.3 percent to a good 82 percent as of October 1, 2006. The two distributors are thus combining the areas of 3D CAD and professional visualisation.
Yello distributes Autodesk solutions for Media and Entertainment in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The most important products are the 3D packages 3ds Max and Maya. Companies that also use their digital 3D design data for visualisation thereby complete their construction and design process and offer their customers genuine added value. Today, more and more companies demanded a “lifelike” representation of their future product even before the first prototype is built. Bringing the distribution and support of solutions for 3D design and visualisation together under one roof is therefore a logical step, MuM says in a press release.
“A ‘Media & Entertainment’ business division is the logical extension of MuM’s previous activities,” says Adi Drotleff, chairman and principal shareholder of Mensch und Maschine Software AG. “We support our customers in a further step of their product development process. Potentially, every user of a 3D CAD system is also a user of a visualisation solution – this therefore creates considerable synergy effects for both MuM and yello.”
