In the newly presented version 5.6, Avid Studio Toolkit brings as its most important innovation the ability to author for DVD and BD-25 in parallel. The feature is hidden in the “Avid DVD by Sonic” component of the suite, whose name already points to the actual originator of the new function.

But the other two components, “Avid FX” and “Avid 3D,” also come up with new features: for example, Avid FX offers, among other things, a revised user interface,

new effect filters and new drawing tools. Thanks to the update, Avid 3D is compatible with its sister application Softimage XSI 5, offers some improvements to the user interface and a very easily animatable camera view.

A complete overview of the new functions is available on the Avid website.
