Through the integration of the AVX 2 plug-in option, editors on OpenGL hardware can now create titles, transitions and other 3D elements directly in the Avid timeline without having to render them in another application. Blue effects can also be stored in Avid bins and used again.
Blue 2.0 also offers improved 3D Interactors for objects, cameras, lights and split views. The 3D scene can be displayed from several perspectives in the composite window. The editor can now automatically focus the 3D camera on a specific object or a point in the scene while animating and animate it along a Bezier spline-based motion path.
The range of effects has been expanded with Curl and Shatter as well as Glow and Film Process. New filters such as Lens Flare and Glint open up creative possibilities when generating effects.
Boris FX is showing Blue 2.0 at booth SL 10520 at the NAB. The tool is also to be available in time for the NAB at a price of 995 US dollars. The update is free.
