ProSieben in the 2007/2008 TV season

According to its own information, ProSieben has proven in recent months that the channel is on the right track: With almost 18.0 percent market share, the channel is the undisputed No.1 among 14- to 29-year-olds and the clear No.2 among viewers aged 14 to 49.

ProSieben Managing Director Andreas Bartl: “ProSieben is top-of-mind again and in the 2007/2008 TV season also stands for attractive, innovative and increasingly often outstanding television – must-see TV for the young media generation.”

More contest shows! “Alongside the new seasons of ?Popstars’, ?Germany’s Next Topmodel’ with Heidi Klum and ?Stars on Ice’ with Katarina Witt, we are presenting our viewers with new, exciting adaptations of the most successful shows worldwide”, ProSieben head Andreas Bartl announces. Thus, from spring 2008 Katarina Witt will present the German adaptations of the successful NBC format “Biggest Loser” and Uri Geller will search for a legitimate successor in “The Successor”. Competition – a major topic for Stefan Raab too! He is not only “TV total” from Monday to Thursday but will demonstrate his abilities in six new episodes of “Schlag den Raab” and present further first-class events.

New film adaptations of classic material for the young media generation – that is the motto for great new event movies, e.g. “Treasure Island”, “The Bridge” or “Flesh”. “Event films that people will talk about”, Andreas Bartl is convinced of that.

“We are once again immensely strongly positioned with US feature films and series. Unfortunately, we have to tell our competitors that again”, the channel head says. The blockbuster offering includes titles such as “Ocean’s Twelve”, “Madagascar”, “Hitch – The Date Doctor”, “Memoirs of a Geisha”, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, “Star Wars: Episode III” or “War of the Worlds”. ProSieben will also continue to live up to its image as the No.1 US-series channel – with new seasons of the successful mystery and dramedy series but also new arrivals such as “Supernatural”, “Eureka”, “Kidnapped” and “Brothers and Sisters” with Calista Flockhart. The latter from late summer on Wednesdays in the line up with “Desperate Housewives” and “Grey’s Anatomy”.

Glamour, shine and big names – the “ProSieben Star Force” is stronger than ever! Heidi Klum, Katarina Witt, Stefan Raab, Christoph Maria Herbst, Michael Herbig, Aiman Abdallah, Sonya Kraus … to name just a few. And the new arrivals: Uri Geller, Boris Becker, who from autumn will portray international personalities in “Becker meets …” (working title), Susi Kentikian, the designated successor to Regina Halmich, who will box exclusively on ProSieben, and Alexandra Neldel, who is filming the crime series “Unschuldig” (working title) for ProSieben.

Innovation is the keyword for the comedy and sitcom area. That is why, of course, viewers will not have to do without new episodes of “Switch reloaded”, “Dr. Psycho” and “ProSieben Märchenstunde” in the coming TV season either. “Stromberg” will also return to ProSieben in a fourth season.

Information and docutainment are very successful on ProSieben and will continue to be an important part of the programme portfolio. This applies to the daily early-evening formats as well as “Galileo Mystery” on Friday evening and, above all, to the successful daytime. Here, on weekdays ProSieben offers the most successful programme stretch of docutainment formats on German television – and will now also use this programme color increasingly in prime time, including with “Das erste große Promi-Pilgern” (working title), and “It’s my Life”.

ProSieben Managing Director Andreas Bartl: “ProSieben is unmistakable in the German television market and we are looking forward to the coming TV season. After the Reload, we will consistently continue along the path we have taken with the next steps and further increase the success and attractiveness of the channel in the audience and advertising market.”
