Nemetschek expanded Allplan IBD with planning data and predefined components for industrial and commercial buildings.
Allplan IBD Industriebau formed part of the Design2Cost workflow, which combined Allplan BIM, Allplan BCM for building cost management and the Allplan IBD construction database.
The industrial dataset included curtain-wall façades, cassette and insulated walls, trapezoidal-sheet roofs, skylights, precast concrete parts, aerated-concrete wall panels, raised floors and cold-room components.
Each component carried work items from several trades. Design changes, such as replacing a raised-floor finish, flowed into the model, quantity schedule, specification and cost overview. Geometric and qualitative changes were handled through the same process.
Assistants supported object-based planning and supplied outputs for building information modelling. The system could generate cost and schedule forecasts and flag planning inconsistencies while keeping data available for subsequent workflow stages.
Continuous visualisation allowed planners to compare building options, including alternative façade treatments, alongside quantities and costs.
