Lamborghini deployed a realtime 3D vehicle configurator built around RTT POS software, with visual content prepared in RTT DeltaGen. The system let dealership staff select a model with a customer, configure it and generate a price proposal.
Users could change exterior paint, the full interior specification and details such as seat-stitching colours. The configurator also supported custom exterior colours, dynamic views of vehicle systems and multiple camera perspectives.
Completed configurations could be saved or printed. A network connection linked the presentation layer to Lamborghini’s existing pricing and specification system, including market-specific equipment and left- or right-hand-drive variants.
Each installation combined a Fujitsu Siemens high-end workstation and tablet PC with a 50-inch NEC plasma display and RTT POS. Siemens supported the rollout, which was scheduled to reach 104 Lamborghini dealerships worldwide by the end of 2007.
