Pixar’s Oscar-nominated short film „Lifted” begins with a tracking shot from a glowing full moon to a small farmhouse. The moonlight illuminates the mist rising from a dark pasture. A solitary lamp glows on the veranda, a swing starts to sway back and forth and a windmill to turn. The camera moves inside and the viewer sees the farmer sleeping in bed. Suddenly, a beam of light passes through the window. The farmer floats out of his bed as if invisible hands were lifting his limp body. He floats in the middle of the beam of light, lying one metre above the ground, turns, floats head first towards the open window and crashes with a thud into the wall next to the window.
