3D mice from 3Dconnexion now support Nemetschek Allplan 2008

The 3D mice from 3Dconnexion now support Nemetschek Allplan 2008, a leading 3D design software for Building Information Modeling (BIM). SpaceNavigator?, SpaceTraveler?, SpacePilot? or SpaceExplorer? enable architects and civil engineers to control 3D models in Allplan easily and precisely, thus ensuring an optimal workflow in planning, implementation and visualization.

With the SpaceNavigator, 2D plans and 3D models can be planned, implemented, analyzed and visualized in Allplan more easily than with a mouse and keyboard alone. Unlike conventional computer mice, whose movement is limited to two dimensions, the 3D mouse enables effortless movement and control of 3D models in Allplan. Through light movements of the controller cap, the user can simultaneously move, zoom and rotate 3D objects. More pressure accelerates the movement, less pressure slows the movement and enables pinpoint navigation.

?The intuitive control of a 3D model with a 3D mouse is increasingly becoming the standard in the CAD world?, says Holger Schiffers, Product Manager Architecture at Nemetschek. ?Through the collaboration with 3Dconnexion, our customers can draw even greater benefit from the Virtual Building Model.

?With the SpaceNavigator, Allplan users receive simple and precise control over their 3D models and can thus optimize and accelerate planning, implementation and visualization?, explains Dieter Neujahr, President of 3Dconnexion. ?The collaboration with Nemetschek demonstrates our commitment to supporting leading 3D applications with an innovative 3D input device.?
