This three-day event for professionals as well as students from the disciplines mentioned takes place in the rooms of UdK Berlin and comprises the three modules: Lectures, Case Studies and Masterclasses. In them, top-class experts from Germany and abroad show sophisticated solutions for the requirements of contemporary architecture and construction as well as modern design by means of 3D modelling, predominantly with the software Rhinoceros.
In the Lectures (à 45 min), speakers from practice present multidisciplinary applications, including on the topic of Generative Design, whereas in the Case Studies (à 45 min), participants are introduced to unique projects or product applications such as Paracloud. The Masterclasses (à 3 x 5 h) deepen 3D modelling skills through experienced instructors in the fields of product, automotive, marine design as well as architecture. Evening Lectures are also planned with renowned architects, designers and engineers who represent pioneers in 3D application with Rhinoceros.
The 3D Modelling Symposium sees itself as a forum for design-oriented disciplines in a networked world of Design, Develop and Visualize. Participants also have the opportunity to meet staff from McNeel, including founder Bob McNeel, as well as discover new developments such as Rhino on Mac OS X and the interactive real-time rendering software Hayabusa.
The 3D Modelling Symposium Berlin is an initiative of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Gengnagel, head of the Architecture – Constructive Design and Structural Engineering degree program at the Berlin University of the Arts, and Ioannis Zonitsas, owner of Visual-Dream, authorized reseller and trainer of the software Rhinoceros 3D in Germany and Greece.
