Just a few MB away from the .fbx size limit, we were supposed to visualise a 2O,OOO horsepower engine. But how do you get such a huge thing into the pipeline?
When a project has been completed in your favourite package and the customer asks for a version for another package, good advice is expensive – especially if you do not own that package. But a new web service called Babel3D translates files into different formats – free of charge and without installing software.
The Berlin University of the Arts, in cooperation with Visual-Dream Berlin, is organising Germany's first 3D-Modelling Symposium for industrial designers, architects and engineers.
The event for professionals and students from the above-mentioned disciplines takes place on the premises of UdK Berlin and comprises three modules: Lectures, Case Studies and Masterclasses. In these, experts from Germany and abroad demonstrate solutions to the requirements of contemporary architecture and construction as well as modern design using 3D modelling, predominantly with Rhinoceros software.
In the Lectures (45 minutes each), speakers present multidisciplinary applications, including on the subject of Generative Design; participants in the Case Studies (45 minutes each) are introduced to projects or product applications such as Paracloud. The Masterclasses (3 x 5 hours each) develop 3D modelling skills with experienced instructors in product, automotive and marine design as well as architecture. Evening Lectures are also planned with renowned architects, designers and engineers who are pioneers in the use of Rhinoceros for 3D applications.
From April 7 – 9, 2008, the Berlin University of the Arts, together with Visual-Dream Berlin, is organizing the first 3D Modelling Symposium in Germany for industrial designers, architects and engineers under the title “Sophisticated Tools In Design, Architecture & Engineering”.
The well-established NURBS surface modeler Rhinoceros, used by industrial and jewelry designers, engineers, architects, and tool and mold makers, can now be expanded with the additional Penguin 1.0 render plug-in.
