This makes all content from Hit-TV.eu accessible worldwide on the television with full functionality and quality. Of course, viewers incur no follow-up costs here either, as Hit-TV.eu is and remains a free-TV offering.
From January 2008, the DSM-330 will also be distributed by Hit-TV.eu. Orders are already being accepted. The first 100 customers to order receive a bonus of €20 on the current sales price of €189. At present, the device is being distributed exclusively through a well-known online bookseller until December 31, 2007. Hit-TV.eu has switched on a new server especially for viewers who watch the programme via the box, which operates independently of the existing web offering. Thus, high retrieval reliability is guaranteed for all viewers watching contributions and programmes on Hit-TV.eu. Alongside the four major IPTV providers that distribute a set-top box, Hit-TV.eu is therefore the first group-independent provider to bring web television into the “living room” and is expanding its leading position in this segment.
Naturally, the programme offering has also been expanded. Further providers have begun cooperation, so that Hit-TV.eu is currently supplied with content by 40 suppliers. This shows that the strategy of implementing an open concept is far more successful and effective than everyone “inventing the bicycle twice”. All providers benefit through the synergy effect and the steadily growing viewer numbers. Of course, Hit-TV.eu will also remain open in future to every provider that produces professionally. However, user-generated content will continue to have no place on Hit-TV.eu.
In total, more than 800 contributions and programmes are online in December. Viewer numbers have increased by more than thirtyfold overall compared with 2006.
