With his third directorial work, Til Schweiger delivered a humorous, light romantic comedy in which he also took a leading role. Nora Tschirner and Matthias Schweighöfer also appear. In total, the film has attracted more than two million cinema-goers.
The only newcomer to the top ten rose to seventh place. Some 115,000 cinema fans saw “Kleiner Dodo” on its opening weekend. The makers of “The Little Polar Bear” brought the little orangutan Dodo to the screen. Mario Adorf, Rick Kavanian and “Quiz Taxi” presenter Thomas Hackenberg lent their voices to the characters.
Not even the magic of “Enchanted” could knock the rabbit off course. The Christmas film took second place with 221,000 viewers. Disney delivers an unusual film here: the story and characters, played by Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon, Amy Adams and James Marsden, move between a drawn fairy-tale world and real Manhattan.
Third place is colourful: “Alvin and the Chipmunks” (193,000 cinema-goers) thoroughly disrupts the life of unsuccessful songwriter Dave (Jason Lee). Only when he accepts the three singing chipmunks as his family does success come his way.
Fourth and fifth places are firmly held by “The Golden Compass” (189,000 visitors) and “Bee Movie” (132,000 interested viewers).
In total, more than 2.11 million visitors bought a ticket over the previous weekend, providing a good start.
