HIS is responding to stable demand for AGP graphics cards by launching two new models based on the ATI HD3850 chipset for the AGP platform in Germany. AGP users can access current HD-video and HD-gaming features from €159 including VAT. More ambitious users can choose the tuned IceQ3 Turbo model, available from €179 including VAT. Both products are now available in Germany.
The GPUs in the HIS HD3850 AGP models have a 256-bit memory interface and 320 stream-processing units for pixel and vertex processing. They support DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1, 24x custom-filter anti-aliasing and 128-bit HDR. The new CrossFireX technology also enables up to four GPUs to operate simultaneously in a quad-GPU configuration. Combined with 512 MB of GDDR3 memory, the new HIS graphics accelerators provide high-quality HD gaming.
The latest HIS cards also integrate extensive multimedia and HD-video functions for connecting an HD television: HDMI support through the supplied DVI-to-HDMI adapter with 5.1-channel digital surround sound, a Unified Video Decoder for Blu-ray and HD DVD playback, and HD-video acceleration and image quality using AVIVO HD.
The HIS IceQ3 cooler is a powerful dual-slot design that exhausts heated air from the graphics card directly out of the PC case. Air passes across a high-quality copper heatsink with two integrated heat pipes to cool both the GPU and memory effectively.
