NCP thereby rounds out its client offering with the manageable Enterprise variant. The Enterprise VPN solution offers all the functionality that distinguishes a comprehensive remote-access solution.
The NCP Secure Enterprise Client thus supports Microsoft Windows Vista and XP for 32 and64 bit alongside Windows 2000. NCP also supplies VPN clients for Windows Mobile, CE, Linux and Symbian. In conjunction with NCP Secure Enterprise Management and NCP High AvailabilityServices, the solution meets all the requirements of modern identity and access management. The centrally administrable Secure Enterprise Client has Endpoint Policy Enforcement to monitor the centrally specified security policy, as well as strong authentication. It meets growing compliance requirements for transparent, audit-proof control of network access. Non-compliant devices remain in a quarantine zone. “Friendly Net Detection” automatically recognises secure and insecure networks.
The software also has bandwidth management to ensure the required Quality of Service (QoS) for voice-over-IP or video data.
The integrated security components include VPN tunnelling, data encryption, a dynamic personal firewall, and support for OTP Mobile, OTP tokens and certificates in a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure). The personal firewall allows rules to be defined for ports, IP addresses and segments, as well as applications. All configurations can be specified centrally by the administrator and cannot be changed by the user.
