Guiding Theme for MEDIENTAGE MÜNCHEN 2008 Announced

MEDIENTAGE MÜNCHEN will address the theme “Advertising in Transition—Value and Effectiveness in the Flood of Digital Media.”

New content and communication platforms are continuously emerging in the digital media world. User behavior and communication between brands and consumers are changing fundamentally as a result. In the age of the internet, mobile media, gaming and more, not only traditional media face major challenges; advertising must also determine how to place messages effectively in the competition for users’ attention.

How can advertising and media planning keep pace with this development and preserve their effectiveness amid a growing flood of media? The future of advertising in an increasingly fragmented media landscape will be the focus of MEDIENTAGE MÜNCHEN 2008, held under the theme “Advertising in Transition—Value and Effectiveness in the Flood of Digital Media” from 29 to 31 October at the International Congress Center at Messe München.

More than 7,000 participants are again expected at Europe’s largest media congress this year. During the three-day event, more than 500 experts will give presentations and participate in discussions across around 90 panels. MEDIENTAGE MÜNCHEN 2008 will feature daily program highlights: the traditional Media Summit on Wednesday, the Print Summit on Thursday and the new Online Summit on Friday. The complete congress program will be published in July. Alongside this year’s “Advertising in Transition” focus and major topics such as IPTV and mobile media, forums will cover media research, gaming and music.

At the accompanying media exhibition, leading suppliers will present current projects and practical solutions for the media industry. Exhibits will range from innovations in broadcast, internet and multimedia, mobile communications, film and production, and specialist media publishing to information offered by associations and institutions.
