In 2009, Knowing Will Be Everything

Sometimes the future takes place in the past… The apocalyptic thriller “Knowing” opens in spring 2009.

Lexington, Massachusetts, 1959: in an experiment, students in a class describe their individual visions of the future and place the documents in a time capsule outside the school. Fifty years later, it is opened and the notes and drawings from that time are distributed to the current students.

Ted Myles’ (NICOLAS CAGE) son Caleb (CHANDLER CANTERBURY) receives a mysterious sheet of paper containing what appears to be a random sequence of columns of numbers. What lies behind them? Myles discovers that some of the numbers relate to tragic accidents and catastrophes of global proportions in the past.

Some designate specific dates or the number of human victims. Another part of the number sequence appears to indicate future events. Is there a chance to crack the code and influence what is about to happen?

After “I, Robot,” director Alex Proyas and cinematographer Simon Duggan once again explore a mysterious, visionary subject. Nicolas Cage (“National Treasure: Book of Secrets”) and Rose Byrne (“Troy”) were secured for the lead roles. Nine-year-old newcomer Chandler Canterbury impresses as Caleb.
