Four productions handled by CinePostproduction are competing for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Sweden’s entry is director and cinematographer Jan Troell’s EVERLASTING MOMENTS, whose digital intermediate, film recording and release print were completed at CinePostproduction Atlantik Film Hamburg.
CinePostproduction re-recording mixers Michael Kranz and Ben Rosenkind mixed the Bernd Eichinger/Uli Edel production THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX. Croatia’s entry, NICIJI SIN (NO ONE’S SON — Alka Film), was also mixed at the Munich sound studios. Israel’s entry and acclaimed Cannes competition film WALTZ WITH BASHIR by Ari Folman (Razor Film) was postproduced at CinePostproduction Geyer Berlin. The film opens in German cinemas on November 6.
CinePostproduction is currently completing THE LAST STATION, starring Oscar winner Helen Mirren (Egoli Tossell Film), as a digital intermediate. BUDDENBROOKS is also being finished. Heinrich Breloer’s adaptation of Thomas Mann’s novel is not only the most elaborate Bavaria Film production since DAS BOOT; its cinema version and television miniseries make postproduction particularly demanding, requiring an end-to-end data-based workflow. Sound mixing is taking place in Munich, alongside the mix for Til Schweiger’s new production 1½ Knights.
