The KING’S EDITION will be released on December 4, 2008, at a recommended retail price of €39.99. The game will be published in an attractive double-DVD box together with an A2 poster for the forthcoming ANNO 1404. Koch Media will distribute the KING’S EDITION in German-speaking territories.

In addition, the Standard Edition of ANNO 1701 is available immediately at the reduced recommended retail price of €29.99.

ANNO 1701, the most elaborate and expensive game production from the German-speaking world to date, continued the successful series that has sold millions of copies. The third installment’s unique combination of several genres in a real-time city-building game is set in the 16th and 17th centuries, the age of discovery and maritime trade. Players create their own fascinating world and build breathtaking cities. As explorers, they embark on adventures, set sail, cross the seven seas and investigate foreign continents and other cultures. This calls for strategic ability, commercial talent and diplomatic skill. Players experience their prosperous population cheering them on—but they should not disappoint them.

To expand the experience even further, ANNO 1701’s The Sunken Dragon expansion is set in Asia. It fulfills fans’ wish for an epic single-player campaign. Across eleven exciting missions, the player sets out to help an old friend with a highly mysterious matter. During the journey, the player experiences numerous adventures, meets old friends and makes new ones. Alongside the campaign, the accessible world editor makes it possible to create a personal ANNO 1701 world and share it with other fans.
