Ubisoft announced the return of the television hit Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on Nintendo DS and Wii. Players and fans of the TV show once again have the opportunity to win a virtual million by correctly answering 15 questions in this immersive, fast-paced game.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has a large fan base in Germany interested in both the programme and the game based on the series. Since the show’s German debut, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has achieved very high ratings, while the first version of the game sold around 500,000 copies across EMEA territories. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? 2nd Edition includes many new features for both Wii and Nintendo DS that intensify the experience and make players feel as though they are taking part in the television show themselves.
A personalised game for every player and more fun for everyone. The second edition lets players experience the excitement of the television show more closely than ever before.
The new DS version includes important new features:
• Three subject areas are available for questions: entertainment, sport, and general knowledge. More than 2,000 questions are included. Questions adapt to the player’s preferences, ensuring an exciting gaming experience.
• Customise the game: players can personalise their profiles so that questions can be adapted to their level of knowledge. This makes the game accessible to the whole family, including children. Players can save their results to compare and track their progress.
• Fastest Finger: the popular feature from the previous Wii version is now also available on Nintendo DS. Players compete against the clock—how many questions can they answer in one minute?
• Practice mode: the new practice mode is ideal for a quick game between activities, on the way to school or work; only half as many questions are asked in this mode.
The new Wii version includes the following special features:
• Mii characters: each player can play with their own Mii and watch it answer questions or react to other events in the game.
• Phone-a-Friend lifeline: the Wii Remote functions as a telephone handset for this lifeline.
• Fastest Finger mode in single-player or multiplayer: the popular feature from the previous year’s Wii version is now also included in multiplayer mode.
• Customise the game: in the Wii version, players can also create their own profiles and specify their personal areas of interest. The game adapts the questions to their level of knowledge, making it suitable for children as well. Personal progress is recorded in the profile.
