The third international Germany/Eastern Europe Co-Production Forum will take place in Stuttgart from 4 to 6 December 2008, organized by Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg together with the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
The Co-Production Forum forms part of the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s annual Film Prize for International Cooperation and aims to prepare young producers and directors from Germany and Eastern Europe for joint film projects.
This year’s focus countries are Hungary and Romania. Film financing and Eastern European distribution markets will be central topics in the workshops and presentations. On 5 December, a panel of experienced film professionals will examine the advantages and challenges of co-productions between Germany and Eastern Europe. Participants will include Kristina Trapp (EAVE), Lili Horváth (Hungarian winner of the current Film Prize in the Short Fiction Film category), Hungarian producer Ferenc Pusztai, Romanian Nextproject coordinator Yvone Irimescu, Gabriele Röthemeyer of MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg and Krabat director Marco Kreuzpaintner. British film journalist Martin Blaney will moderate.
Speakers for the seminars and workshops include Andreea Dinca of the Romanian Cultural Institute, Marta Lamperova of international distributor MDC, Tamás Joó of Eurimages in Budapest, Hungarian producer Péter Miskolczi and Mihai Gligor of Romanian Film Promotion.
The panel discussion and several presentations and workshops are open to the public.
