Customers who need assistance can also email Seagate at mailto:discsupport@seagate.com. The email should include the drive’s model number, serial number and firmware number. Seagate will respond promptly and provide instructions.
This issue does not cause data loss; the data remains on the hard drive. If files become inaccessible because of the issue, Seagate offers a free recovery service. Seagate will work with affected customers to provide a rapid remedy and minimize disruption for individuals and businesses.
