The international profile of the conference program matches the high standard set in the previous year. Ian Baverstock, co-founder and CEO of globally renowned developer Kuju Entertainment and chairman of the British game developers’ trade association TIGA, will draw on his many years of industry experience to provide fundamental insights into his work and the UK games market. Industry veteran Kevin Bruner, chief technology officer and co-founder of successful American development studio Telltale Games, will discuss the use of technology in the development process.
Other prominent confirmed speakers include Garrett Moehring, senior producer at Atari Interactive; Noah Falstein, a former developer at LucasArts Entertainment; and Arend Strühmann of CCP Games, the developer of EVE Online.
Game Focus Germany 2009 will also feature several poster sessions on relevant legal issues in the games industry on 29 January. The first day will conclude with the SPEED-LINK networking party, opening with a panel discussion titled “Serious Games as a New Business Field for the Games Industry.”
On 30 January, international and German speakers at the Regio Summit will discuss “A Comparison of Funding Models and Strategies for Game Developers in Germany and Abroad.” The G.A.M.E. federal association has joined as a partner for planning the content.
