CINE PLUS expanded its HD camera inventory, which already included more than ten HDCAM camcorders, by investing in eight Sony PDW-700 units. The cameras were ordered with the SD option to meet demand for XDCAM HD 422 while maintaining flexibility for television and film production. The new units were available at all German locations alongside existing PDW-530 XDCAM SD camcorders.
“Tapeless recording gives many customers a way to reduce costs and optimize the production workflow,” said Martin Schauderna, Project Manager for ENG and Digital Cinematography at CINE PLUS in Berlin. “The PDW-700 covers a broad range, from high-quality magazine reports in HD to fictional series production, with full-HD 4:2:2 quality. Depending on accessories, it can address both digital cinematography and electronic news-gathering requirements.”
CINE PLUS also maintains an inventory of accessories. Available lenses for the Sony camcorders included Zeiss DigiZooms and DigiPrimes, Fujinon HD Cinestyle lenses, ARRI matte boxes, and wireless focus systems.
The company also offered HD post-production services including high-end colour correction. Five Baselight systems were available across Germany, with 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 master output to Sony HDCAM-SR SRW-5800 and SRW-5500 decks.
