The current issue of DIGITAL PRODUCTION (DP) offers a special treat. Exclusively for the industry-leading specialist magazine, ILM created a unique image of the Autobot Bumblebee from Spielberg’s latest highlight, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”
Industrial Light & Magic Studios (ILM) in San Francisco is regarded as a pioneer of the animation industry. From the Star Wars films and E.T. through The Mask, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean to Transformers 1 and 2, its 17 Oscars, among other honours, testify to the post-producers’ skill.
In its current issue, DP addresses the most pressing questions about the new film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” This is already apparent from the issue’s cover, adorned with an image of one of the Autobots produced exclusively for DIGITAL PRODUCTION.
In her article in the current DP, multiple award-winning journalist Barbara Robertson gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at this enormous film and once again leaves them wanting more. Scott Farrar, Visual Effects Supervisor at ILM, and other professionals discuss not only enormous storage capacities, a digital robot library, a gigantic set, crying Autobots, digital worlds, and the appropriate piece of fabric.
The current issue 04:09 of DIGITAL PRODUCTION is available from newsagents or online at http://www.digitalproduction.com from 26 June 2009.
