Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) announced today that Free Realms can be played in five new, fully supported languages: French, German, Spanish (Castilian), Spanish (Latin America), and English (United Kingdom). Originally released in English (US) on April 28, 2009, Free Realms is a free, family-friendly online video game set in a whimsical virtual world with more than four million registered players.
“With Free Realms, we continually strive to lower the barrier to entry for new players, and complete localization is another example of this,” said Andy Sites, Senior Producer at Sony Online Entertainment. “Players of all ages and from all regions can now play together across all supported languages and enjoy fully localized spoken text, in-game graphics, on-screen and website content without a language barrier.”
For the first time in an SOE game, all existing and new players can now play on all Free Realms servers in any of the supported languages. Players can play Free Realms in their desired language by visiting the localized website at http://www.FreeRealms.com, where a server with the highest number of players using their chosen language is recommended. Chat and profanity filters supporting all languages were also incorporated with the localization. Comprehensive customer support and community-team support are also offered in all languages.
In Free Realms, players can customize their characters and play a variety of minigames - in a safe online environment packed with impressive graphics, distinctive regions and the ability to maintain a social network.
