ClipCutter software enables ingest from different sources, logging,
searching, editing and clip selection. The clips can then immediately be sent to
playout. “Simple, fast, reliable – this workflow is
ideal for news and sports!” says Jürgen Firsching, managing director of dve.
During live operation or logging and review, ClipCutter creates XML files containing
the necessary metadata. This data is read via EVS XT
Access¹ (software). The selected clips or streams are then
transferred from the EVS XT2 (1) to the desired storage, can be edited at local
workstations and made available on the network again using EVS XT Access.
Any familiar SAN can be used as storage, such as
Apple XSAN or Quantum StorNext.
The dedicated HT624 hardware controller from Hi Tech
Systems Ltd.’s asigN series, with 20 illuminated, freely assignable buttons and the familiar jog-
shuttle wheel, accelerates work. The familiar tools make it
ready for immediate use and provide all the reliability of the SwissTiming-based
software.
