The solution for capturing, processing and outputting high-resolution 3D content includes new Quadro GPUs and, as an additional component, the NVIDIA 3D Vision Pro shutter glasses. This is intended to make it possible to follow the 3D stereoscopic production process live and at full resolution.
The new features of the Digital Video Pipeline include real-time 3D graphics integration, 3D encoding, 3D video streaming over the internet and 3D video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Suite 5 and the CineForm Neo3D plug-in.
The NVIDIA Quadro Digital Video Pipeline includes the new Quadro GPUs based on the Fermi architecture. These include the recently introduced Quadro 5000 and Quadro 4000 GPUs, which offer significant performance increases in visualisation applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. The 30-bit colour depth (10 bits per colour channel) enables billions of colour nuances to be displayed and thus realistic images of the highest quality. The GPUs have large graphics memories of 2.5 GByte (Quadro 5000) and 2 GByte (Quadro 4000). This means they can also be used without difficulty for complex video production, including high-resolution 4K video streams such as RED.
The Quadro 6000 is also new to the portfolio. With a peak value of 1.3 billion “triangles per second” (based on NVIDIA tests with GLperf 11), it gives users the opportunity to work with models and scenes five times more complex than before.
