The 3D graphics capabilities of the Nvidia Quadro GPU and the computing power of the Nvidia Tesla GPU are now intended to be optimally combined with one another into a powerful workstation through Maximum technology.
Simultaneously
Until now, interactive graphics- and compute-intensive numerical processing and simultaneous simulation or rendering of the results had to be carried out in individual steps or on seperate systems; this is now intended to be possible simultaneously on one system with Maximus technology.
As a result, even low-cost workstations could simultaneously process complex analyses and demanding visualizations by exploiting the computing power provided by graphics cards. Fluid simulations and simultaneous work on a CAD system would, for example, be possible.
Optimized card performance
Since both product families, Tesla and Quadro, share a common driver through Maximus, it is possible for the workload to be automatically assigned to the card optimized for it. The first workstations with Nvidia’s Maximus technology are offered by HP, Dell, Lenovo and Fujitsu, for example.
