HP is expanding its desktop range from April with the HP Z420, HP Z620 and HP Z820 workstations. Equipped with the new Intel Xeon E5 processors and NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards, the new PCs are said to be particularly suitable for sectors that work in 2D and 3D. Beyond this basic equipment, all the workstations are said to have different characteristics, allowing every user to work with a workstation suited to their individual requirements.
The HP Z420 workstation is said to have been produced with up to 64 GB of RAM and high-speed storage of up to 15 TB for classic image- and video-editing applications. The HP Z620 workstation is equipped with up to 96 GB of RAM and likewise a maximum of 11 TB of high-speed storage. This model is therefore said to be particularly suitable for animation professionals.
The most powerful workstation is said to be the HP Z820, which offers up to 512 GB of RAM and up to 15 terabytes of high-speed storage. This version is the long-awaited update showing that HP will not withdraw from workstation production quite so quickly after all. HP Power Management Solutions is said to ensure low energy consumption for all three HP Z workstations.
The HP Z420 workstation is available from April 2012 at a price starting at 1,249 euros, the HP Z620 workstation at a price starting at 1,499 euros, and the HP Z820 workstation at a price starting at 1,899 euros.
