San Diego developer IntegrityWare developed Power SubD-NURBS for Luxology, and the result is impressive. Prototype development seems to have become one step easier again. With Power SubD-NURBS, objects can be built quickly using the familiar Subdivision Surface modeling process(SubD) and converted into NURBS data via a modifier. The generated CAD data can then be exported to formats such as IGES, Rhino, STEP, and SAT, which can be loaded by leading CAD programs for refinement or sent directly to 3D printers for processing.
The plug-in is available for modo Version 601, for Windows as well as Mac OS, and on both systems with support for 32-bit and 64-bit. The cost is 595$.
