When automatic lighting optimization is used, for example when shooting exposure brackets, incorrectly exposed images are no longer intended to be produced. According to Canon, this is intended to be the first fixed error. Furthermore, it is ensured that the power supply remains active throughout when using telephoto lenses such as EF 2.8/300 mm or 400 mm L IS II USM, including the teleconverters EF 1.4X III or EF 2X III.
Canon also says that the backlight of the LCD monitor is definitely intended to be switched off with certain camera settings from the new firmware update onward.
We already reported that a new lens is intended to appear in July. This is the EF 40mm 1:2.8 STM. It will also be usable with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III, but not with continuous focusing during video recording.
